Tech buddy support and training service
The internet and technology are transforming the way we live our lives and have enormous potential to help people with sight loss with how they shop, keep in touch, access information and entertainment, and more. Tech Buddy is designed to help you with technology, regardless of your current level of knowledge.
We have several dedicated volunteers who can help you with assistive technology, including people with lived experience of sight loss. If you don’t know where to begin, have a specific problem or query, or simply want to try something new on your mobile phone, tablet or computer, we are here to help. Please ring the office on 01924 215555 to discuss your needs and make an appointment with an appropriate volunteer.
We are also pleased to be able to offer access to 1-2-1 computer training with Alan Rayner, who is blind himself, in partnership with Wakefield Library. Alan is available to provide free training on Microsoft basic software packages, and speech and magnification software on the computers at the Library. To find out more, please contact Alan on 01924 365357 for an informal chat about your needs.
