Our April 2026 newsletter is out now!
Our latest quarterly newsletter is now available and as usual is full of events and activities for you to get involved with!
You can download a PDF copy of the newsletter here.
The newsletter is also available in large print, audio CD, audio USB and Braille. Please let us know if you’d like to receive a different or alternative format. If you also receive a copy of the newsletter in the post, these will be sent out today and should start arriving in the next few days (Braille copies will take slightly longer).
Highlights from this quarter’s edition include details of:
- Our recent success at the Yorkshire Business Awards, at which we won Team of the Year!
- An afternoon tea and spring flowerpot workshop, here at St. Swithun’s on Wednesday 29th April.
- Our next canal boat trip with the Safe Anchor Trust, on Wednesday 13th May.
- A self-confidence and me workshop, which is being run by our friends at Live Well Wakefield specifically for WDSA members on Monday 18th May.
- Our AGM and summer celebration (including lunch!) on Monday 22nd June.
- Our Art Beyond Vision group, which meets weekly during term time and is a friendly, inclusive space for anyone who’d like to get creative and meet new people, irrespective of your level of vision or previous experience. We welcome absolute beginners and experienced artists/crafters, so please come along and give it a try!
- Our cost of living support fund, which is open again for the fourth year running and is there to help anyone from the visually impaired community who finds themselves in financial hardship.
Also included is information about all our regular groups and activities, including the dates of our next Living Well with Sight Loss courses.
Sending the newsletter each quarter is a huge undertaking and would not be possible without volunteer support. Special thanks to Catherine, Mike, Pam, and Noah for their help this quarter.
If you don't receive a copy of the newsletter in the post or by email and would like to request one, please contact the office by phone on 01924 215555 or by email admin@wdsa.org.uk.
