Our January newsletter is now live!

Written by Hayley

Our January 2024 newsletter is now available to download, and is packed with all the info about everything happening in the coming quarter, including our next Demo Day, fish and chip lunch with bingo, and much more!

Happy New Year! I hope this email finds you keeping well and warm!

You can download a copy of the January 2024 newsletter here. For those who receive a paper, audio or Braille copy in the post, this will arrive with you this week. Included with the postal copies is a flyer from our friends at Citizens Advice. You can download a copy of the Your Money Matters flyer that was sent with the postal copies of the newsletter here.

Some highlights from the newsletter to make you aware of:

  • Our next Living Well With Sight Loss course, taking place on Monday 22nd and Monday 29th January – please contact us ASAP if you would like to join as we may be able to fit you in!
  • Our next Demo Day, on Monday 4th March, at which we will be joined by our friends from Optelec, Citizens Advice, and Healthwatch. We will also be running a showcase of our Art Beyond Vision project.
  • Our next fish and chip lunch, with cash prize bingo, on Wednesday 13th March.
  • News of our King’s Award for Voluntary Service, for anyone who wasn’t already aware.
  • A full list of winning ticket numbers from our Christmas prize draw.
  • Information about cost-of-living support.
  • And much more!

Please note that our Younger Members Social Group, taking place on the fourth Thursday of the month, has been renamed the Evening Social Group (ESG), to recognise the broad range of ages of people who attend and encourage new members. The time and location of the group meeting has not changed.

As always, we would like to extend our thanks to all our volunteers who make it possible for us to send out the newsletter every quarter – as you can imagine, it is no small undertaking to send out over 1,200 newsletters in a variety of formats across the whole district, so huge thanks to everyone who helps make this happen.

As always, if you would like the newsletter in an additional or alternative format, or have any questions, please do contact us in the office on 01924 215555.
